‘Yes We Are Quarrelling With President Tinubu’

The Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, has submitted that the policies of President Bola Tinubu are bad and causing hardship for Nigerians.

Governor Mohammed said the bad policies of the President are causing hardships for Nigerians and the various state governors, and that is why there is a disagreement.

According to him, a good instance of the bad policies of the Tinubu government is the recent Tax Reform Bills currently before the National Assembly.

The Governor, however, added that there is still a chance for President Tinubu to correct his mistakes.

Speaking when he received a delegation of Islamic scholars led by Sheikh Sani Yahaya Jingir, Governor Mohammed advised the president to listen to Nigerians and those who are correcting him because the policies are not working and the people are suffering.

“Your policies are not working and people are suffering.

“I am not insulting anybody and it is not arrogance but as leaders, it is a duty upon us to tell ourselves the truth. We are saying it so that the president can correct his mistake. Nigerians are suffering and we, the governors, are also suffering because of the president’s bad policies.

“Take for instance the Tax reform policy. Of course, no government can survive without revenue; if for instance the sources of its revenue can be blocked, no one can run it.

“I am sure you have heard that we are quarrelling with the president. Yes, it is true we are quarrelling because our people are suffering and the president has refused to listen to us,” he said.

Governor Mohammed added that he has the intention to meet with Sheikh Jingir on the matter because he is one of the few people who can talk to President Tinubu about it.

“You are among the few personalities that can approach the president on this issue. You are one of the people that the president listens to,” the Governor said.
