Popular Yoruba Nollywood actress, Kiitan Bukola, has opened up about her reasons for being afraid of marriage.
TheNewsGuru.com(TNG) recalls that in November 2022, the actress had called off her engagement with her then fiance over alleged infidelity after announcing it on social media.
Kiitan, in a recent interview with her colleague, Biola Adebayo, on her YouTube podcast, ‘Talk to B’, spoke about her childhood experiences and how she never experienced the love of a father.
The actress further disclosed that her fear of marriage stems from a desire to provide her kids with a stable and loving home, which she never had.
She said, “I don’t have a father who cared how I wanted it. Like, I didn’t enjoy the love of father to mother together. So, it hurts me a lot.
“I never lived together with my parents. The funny thing is that I don’t know some of my father’s children because we are close to fourteen.
“I have friends who have been through a lot in their marriages. And I have some that have enjoyed it. I don’t want to have children out of wedlock. I want my children to experience fatherly care.
“I love marriage, but I’m scared of it at the same time, I don’t want my children to grow up without fatherly care, or in a separate home. My ideal man is very understanding and prayerful. I don’t want stress. I want to let someone I can call my best friend. Someone that will understand the difference between my job and our home.
“Because I once dated someone who would tell me to return money for a job on a day I’m supposed to go to set.”
