Why I won’t change my toxic lyrics – Ruger spills

Nigerian singer, Ruger, has been making waves in the music industry with his unique sound and unapologetic lyrics.

However, his music has also been criticized for being toxic and promoting negative values.

Despite the backlash, Ruger has refused to back down, stating that he won’t change his lyrics to suit anyone’s taste.

During an Instagram live session with fans, Ruger explained that his music is a reflection of his reality and the world around him.

“I’m not undergoing any rebranding anytime soon. I am the heartbreak master, the toxic relationship master, the scattered relationship master. So, you can’t change who I am.

“I am not undergoing any rebranding soon. So, if you come for my lyrics saying that I’m toxic..No, I love women.

“Women know that I love them. I love women with my whole heart. I’m very nice and sweet to women. Every woman I have been with knows that I am nice and sweet to them.”

Ruger’s stance has sparked a heated debate in the music industry, with some critics accusing him of promoting toxic masculinity and misogyny.

However, the singer’s fans have come to his defense, arguing that his music is a form of self-expression and a reflection of the harsh realities of life.

Despite the controversy, Ruger remains unapologetic about his music. “I’m not going to change who I am or what I stand for to please anyone,” he said. “My music is a part of me, and if people don’t like it, they can choose not to listen. But for those who do connect with my music, I’m grateful for their support and understanding.”

While some may criticize his lyrics, others see him as a breath of fresh air in an industry that often prioritizes commercial appeal over authenticity.
