Umar Sadiq has reacted to reports that fans of his former club Almeria are urging the club’s owners to re-sign Him.
Sadiq was impressive in the three seasons he spent at Almeria, whom he joined in 2020.
In the 2020/21 Spanish Segunda campaign, Sadiq bagged 20 goals in 40 appearances and in the following season, he netted 18 goals in 36 league games.
His impressive form in front of goal helped Almeria gain promotion to La Liga for the 2022/23 season.
After bagging two goals in three league appearances Sadiq was snapped up by Real Sociedad.
His exploits at Almeria has not been forgotten as there are rumours the club fans wsnt him back.
When asked in an interview on TribalFootball about the possibility of being re-signed at Almeria, Sadiq said:”With Almeria, it’s always a pleasure. We never know what the future comes with.”
On rumours of a January move awayy to another LaLiga club like Getafe:”I don’t know. Let’s see what will happen in the future.”
The 27-year-old spoke about his knee problems from last season and what he learnt about himself.
“I feel good and my knee is perfect. Yes, I feel stronger after my rehab.”
“I learnt how to be strong mentally and appreciate every moment in football.”
On whether his former teammate Mikel Merino is being missed”We all know how important he is, but every season is different and we have other great players here also.”
The Super Eagles striker went on to praise former Manchester City star, David Silva, describing him as special.
“Yes, he is so special both on and off the field. So glad to have played with him.”
On his message for Nigerian fans after the Rwanda defeat and if he feel part of the Super Eagles ahead of the 2025 AFCON in Morocco:”Nigerian fans should keep supporting the Super Eagles.”
“Of course. It is always a dream to represent Nigeria.”
