The world is currently plagued with diverse issues that has kept it away from beaming the search light on Riyadh Saudi Arabia, before now epic fight such as these would keep the worlds media buzzing with frenzy as fight night draws near.
The entertainment that is being packaged this days though very unique and solid most times yet lacks capacity to draw the kind of attention this fight deserves. Kudos must be given to Turki Alalshikh who has put out classics upon classics.
This fight is reminiscent of the battles of old, it reminds me of Ali/Frazier trilogy, Evander Holyfield and Lennox Lewis as so on, its has greatness sprinkled all over it. The purse has be said to be around one hundred and ninety million dollars, split between the two gladiators, Usyk get fifty five million while Fury gets forty five million dollars.
The fight itself is very difficult to predict, pundits such Teddy Atlas has given Oleksandr Usyk (22-0,14 KO’s) a slight edge on the basis that he knows how to win. In their last encounter Usyk utilized pressure and only got great success in the 9th round and did enough to win a split decision. Tyson Fury (34-1-1, 24 KO’s) on the other hand wasn’t at his very best, at times in that first fight he was show boating, the press conference leading up to that fight wasn’t the typical gypsy king, he was lay back and almost complacent about the outcome.
The approach this time is completely different, Fury is looking very serious and determined, he has gone through a lot in and out of the ring and knows how to bounce back, this fight is a leeway into legendary status for both fighters. They are both smart and skillful and any of them can be the winner.
In terms of strategy Usyk will look to press and use over hand to land some clean shots, the question is can he come in with getting punished as in the first fight, I doubt, so come Saturday December 21st 2024, boxing will the biggest winner. Who wins, for me as in the first fight, if fury remains focused and don’t play around, he wins by using his size to his advantage.
