Former Kwara United coach Samson Unuanel has lauded the Home-Based Eagles’ qualification for the 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN).
Recall that Nigeria defeated the Black Galaxies of Ghana 3-1 at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium, Uyo, on Saturday.
Two quickfire goals from Nduka Junior and Isaac Saviour put Nigeria 3-0 ahead under 30 minutes and put them in firm control going into halftime.
The Black Galaxies came back a bit stronger in the second half, and they were able to reduce the deficit in the 71st minute through Amakhona Stephen.

“I have said it even before their qualification for the competition that the Home-Based Eagles will overcome Ghana in Uyo.
“It was a sweet victory for me considering the fact that the feat was achieved by players in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL).
“I am proud of their achievement and I believe they will do a better job in CHAN.”
