UCL: Guardiola Expresses Concerns Over Man City Starting Line-up Against Madrid

Pep Guardiola has expressed his concerns about Manchester City’s starting line-up against Real Madrid due to injuries.

City will host Madrid in the first leg of the UEFA Champions League play-offs on Tuesday.

The Premier League champions have been battling with injuries this campaign with the likes of Rodri, Jeremy Doku sidelined.

Speaking during his presser on Monday, Guardiola said though they are looking forward to the clash but he is having headache with his starting 11.

“We are where we are and I know perfectly. But, the team has something special and hopefully tomorrow we can prove it.

“I know the gameplan tomorrow. I still have doubts about the selection as we still have injuries… I am always optimistic and calm. We will see what happens… I am sure the players are looking forward to the game tomorrow.

“It is a pleasure to play in the Champions League… and it is an honour so hopefully our fans can help us.”

The Spaniard admitted that the Cityzens were poor in the group stage so deserve to be in the play-offs.

“In the group stage or knockout stage it is always difficult against them [Real Madrid]. We did not do well in the group stage so we deserve to be here. The draw is the draw and we accept the challenge.”
