Gout Gout sets another record
Gout Gout stole the show again in Australia at the All-Schools Athletics Championships. He clocked a sensational 10.04 seconds in the heats with a tailwind of 3.4m/s. It is the fourth fastest time in all conditions.
That would be enough to shatter the national under-18 record. He clocked 10.17 seconds in the final, per Eurosport.

This means he has a new personal best, breaking the record of 10.29 seconds he set in March this year, per World Athletics. He was also tenth quicker than Sebastian Sultana’s previous record.
Patrick Johnson remains the only Australian to run under 10 seconds. Gout turns 17 in December and will be looking to break the all-time under-18 record of 10.06 seconds held by Christian Miller.
If he continues like this, Gout could take part in the 2025 World Athletics Championships in Tokyo, Japan. The 2032 Olympics will also be held in Brisbane; therefore Gout could be in his prime.
