Former governor of Kano State, Senator Ibrahim Shekarau, has urged the leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) at all levels to leverage the country’s youth population to win the 2027 general election.
Henzodaily reports that Shekarau made this known at the unveiling of the Board of Trustees (BoT) of Northern Forum of Zonal and State Youth Leaders of PDP in Abuja.
Present at the event were, Hon. Enemona Anyebe (Kogi State Chairman of PDP), DR. Joel E.B Adagadzu (North Central Zonal Organising Secretary), Dr Yunana Iliya (National Ex-Officio) among many others.
In his speech, Shekarau said leveraging on youth population would help the party to retain power.
He also enjoined the youths to rally round PDP as the only credible alternative that would take Nigeria out of its current challenges.
According to the former Kano governor, the PDP, during its 16 years in power, delivered the dividend of democracy to the people and made life better, and should be returned in 2027.
Also speaking, Chairman, Northern Forum of Zonal and State Youth Leaders of PDP and North Central Zonal Youth Leader of PDP, Aruwa Ismailab, explained that the social media handles are to serve as awareness creation avenues to regain the confidence of Nigerians.
