Salah, Szoboszlai Score As Liverpool Edge Man City

Liverpool moved 11 points clear of Arsenal in the Premier League table after overcoming Manchester City 2-0 at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday.

The Egyptian international opened the scoring after just 14 minutes, finishing off a well-worked set-piece routine, drilling the ball home from inside the box after Dominik Szoboszlai had flicked on a low corner first-time into Salah’s path.

Salah has now scored both the most goals (nine) and most assists (six) of any player against sides managed by Pep Guardiola in his top-flight league managerial career.

City, without the injured Erling Haaland, had their moments, with Omar Marmoush seeing a goal disallowed for offside, but Liverpool made it 2-0 when Salah brilliantly teed up Szoboszlai in the 37th minute.

They now sit 11 points clear of Arsenal at the end of the weekend, and the Gunners’ title hopes are hanging by a thread.
