Rangers manager, Philippe Clement has explained Cyriel Dessers’ bench role at the club.
Dessers has not started a game for the Light Blues since the end of November.
Clement declared the emergence of young striker Hamza Igamane has forced the Nigeria international to take up a role on the substitute bench.
“I spoke with Cyriel (Dessers) about why he’s playing less than before, and that’s because of the growth of Hamza (Igamane),” he explained.
“We will see what happens.
“Cyriel is working really hard. He’s a very good lad; he thinks collectively always.”
However, the coach claimed that Dessers has given full support to the youngster by helping him to improve his game
“He’s in support of Hamza; he gives him a lot of tips in the last couple of months in the training and during games,” he said.
“He showed that in the last game when he came in. You don’t see in him a player that’s disappointed that he’s not starting.”
