Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly contemplating a January transfer bid for Super Eagles of Nigeria striker, Victor Osimhen who is currently on loan at Galatasaray.
Since November 2024, Galatasaray have consistently affirmed that Victor Osimhen will remain with the club until the conclusion of the 2024-2025 season. But PSG are set to challenge that with a mouthwatering bid.
This season, PSG’s performance has not met expectations, prompting the team to seek reinforcements for the second half of the campaign.
Osimhen, who joined Galatasaray on a season-long loan from Napoli last summer, has made a significant impact, showcasing remarkable form that has helped elevate Galatasaray to the top of the Süper Lig and bolster their standing as contenders in the Europa League.
Last year, PSG made a noteworthy €100 million bid for Osimhen after his outstanding contributions led Napoli to capture their first Serie A title in 33 years.
However, Napoli rejected the offer, and PSG subsequently explored other options. In the last transfer window, PSG were once again linked to Osimhen while searching for a replacement for Kylian Mbappé, who moved to Real Madrid, but they were deterred by Napoli’s high valuation.
This season, PSG have faced challenges in maintaining consistency, particularly in the Champions League. While they remain unbeaten in Ligue 1 after 13 matches, their performance in Europe has raised concerns, with only one win in five outings, jeopardizing their knockout-stage prospects.
According to reports from French journalist Daniel Riolo (via OjbSports), manager Luis Enrique views Osimhen as an ideal addition to rejuvenate the team’s campaign. Although PSG have the financial resources to make an attractive offer, Galatasaray are steadfast in their commitment to retaining Osimhen at least until the end of the season. The striker has also publicly expressed his dedication to completing the campaign in Istanbul.
