A renowned Islamic scholar, Sheikh Muhydeen Ajani Bello, has passed away at the age of 84 years.
TheNewsGuru.com(TNG) reports that a colleague of the deceased who’s based in Ibadan, Sheikh Akewugbagold Taofeek, disclosed the demise of the fearless Oyo state-born preacher in a Facebook post on Friday.
According to Akewugbagold, the renowned preacher returned to his creator on Friday. He also prayed that God will be pleased with his soul.
The post reads: “Today is one of my saddest day! My father and mentor has returned to his creator. Sultonul Wahizeen of Yorubaland, Sheikh Muhyideen Ajani Bello. May Allah be pleased with your soul. Aljannah fridaos for you. Our heart is full of grief and our eyes full of tears but we will say nothing but what will please our Creator the sole commander of life and death – Allah.”
His son, Alh Basit Olanrewaju Katibi Bello, popularly known as Aponle Anobi, also confirmed the demise of the renowned scholar in a social media post on Friday.
Aponle Anobi posted crying emojis with a picture of the Sheikh but did not provide any other details.
Born 1940, into the family of Alhaji Bello Ajani and Alhaja Ubaidat Bello of Arolu Compound, Ita Olukoyi, Ibadan. Sheikh Muyideen grew to become a highly respected Nigerian Islamic scholar and cleric who has made significant contributions to Islamic education by helping establish and run several schools and institutions.
