Police Rescue Wife Of Retired AIG Odumosu, Neutralise Kidnappers

Operatives of the Nigeria Police Force, in an intelligence-led operation, have successfully rescued Mrs Odumosu, wife of retired assistant inspector-general of police, Hakeem Odumosu, from the clutches of her abductors.

The rescue mission, which took place in a remote creek in Ikorodu, left two kidnappers neutralised while four others managed to escape, abandoning their weapons and a ransom of N10 million.

It would be recalled that Mrs Odumosu was abducted outside her residence in Arepo, Ogun State, on January 16, 2025, by four masked gunmen, igniting an intensive search by the Ogun State Police Command.

While acting on credible intelligence, the police launched a pre-dawn raid on January 23, 2025, catching the criminals off guard.

Recovered from the scene were sophisticated firearms, including AK-47 rifles, and the ransom money, ensuring that justice was served.

Force PRO ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi confirmed the story and said that Mrs Odumosu was found unharmed and has since been reunited with her family after a medical evaluation.

Meanwhile, the inspector-general of police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun, praised the swift action of his officers, stating that this successful rescue mission underscores our unwavering commitment to public safety.

The IGP lauded the Ogun State commissioner of police and his team for their bravery, reaffirming the police force’s relentless efforts to combat crime and ensure the safety of all citizens.
