The Police Command in Ekiti has announced to hold a one-day shooting range exercise on Saturday.
This is contained in a statement issued in Ado-Ekiti on Friday by the command’s spokesperson, Sunday Abutu.
According to the spokesperson, the exercise will occur at the quarry site opposite the police headquarters, Old Iyin Road, Ado Ekiti, between 6.00 a.m. and noon.
Abutu encouraged residents, farmers, and passersby in the environment not to panic due to the sound of gunshots arising from the exercise.
He, however, warned the people to steer clear and avoid any activity within the vicinity until the exercise was over to avoid being traumatised or hit by stray bullets.
Abutu reassured the public of the commitment of the state Commissioner of Police, Akinwale Adeniran, to maximum security of lives and property.
He urged all to be law-abiding and cooperate with the police always.
