Onuachu’s Goal Drought Continues As Struggling Southampton Fall To West Ham

Paul Onuachu’s search for his first goal in the colours of Southampton continues as they fell to a 1-0 defeat to West Ham at St. Mary’s on Boxing Day.

Jarrod Bowen’s 59th minute strike was enough to earn the Hammers all the three points.

Onuachu saw action for 90 minutes while Joe Aribo was introduced in the 61st minute.

He has failed to score in eight Premier League appearances this season for the relegation threatened side.

Also, since his move to Southampton in 2022, Onuachu has not scored in 19 league games.

Meanwhile, Southampton remain bottom on just six points after 18 league games played.

In other Boxing Day fixtures struggling Manchester City were held to a 1-1 , Fulham came from a goal down to beat Chelsea 2-1 at Stamford Bridge and Nottingham Forest pipped Tottenham Hotspur 1-0.

At St. James’Park, Newcastle United beat 10-man Aston Villa 3-0 and Bournemouth played 0-0 with Crystal Palace.
