NPFL: Shooting Stars Extend Unbeaten Streak, Heartland Pip Rivers United

Shooting Stars maintained their unbeaten streak after they were held to a 1-1 draw by Plateau United in Jos on Sunday.

Tijani Kabiru opened scoring for Gbenga Ogunbote’s side in the 74th minute.

The hosts leveled through Albert Hilary two minutes later.

Shooting Stars maintained second position on the log with 37 points from 21 games.

In Owerri, Rivers United faltered once again in the title race going down 2-0 to Heartland.

Christian Molokwu and Joel Okoro were the scorers for Heartland in the game.

At the Umuahia Township Stadium, Abia Warriors defeated Akwa United 2-0.

Ijoma Desouza gave Abia Warriors the lead after 26 minutes, while Samuel Christian doubled the home team’s advantage in stoppage time.

Elsewhere,Anas Yusuf scored a brace as Nasarawa United beat Niger Tornadoes 2-0 at the Lafia City Stadium.

Kano Pillars and Bayelsa United battled to a 0-0 draw at the Sani Abacha Stadium.
