NPFL Managers Association Unhappy With Attack On Remo Stars Coach In Lagos

The Nigeria Premier League Club Managers Association (NPLCMA) has denounced the attack on Sulaiman Kamil, the assistant coach of NPFL title contenders, Remo Stars.

Reports indicate that Kamil was assaulted by an unidentified individual following Remo Stars’ matchday 17 NPFL fixture against Ikorodu City at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena on Sunday.

The NPLCMA, led by Chairman Gbenga Ogunbote, expressed their concern over this unfortunate incident.

In a statement released on Monday, the association called on the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) and the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) to take swift and effective measures to address this situation and prevent similar occurrences in the future.

Note that the NPFL match saw Remo Stars secure a 1-1 draw against Ikorodu City.

Meanwhile, Plateau United’s technical adviser, Mbwas Mangut, voiced his concerns regarding the team’s current standing in the league, as they sit in 16th place with 22 points from 17 games.

The Peace Boys suffered a narrow 1-0 defeat to Lobi Stars in their recent outing on Sunday.

Mangut acknowledged that while his players put forth a strong effort, they, unfortunately, lost focus toward the end of the match.

“We didn’t quite execute our strategies as planned in some areas. Given the challenging position we are in on the league table, we approached the game with determination, but a lapse in concentration toward the end proved costly,” he told Plateau United’s media.

Plateau United are set to face Enyimba in Jos, and the team will be focused on improving their performance and climbing the league standings.
