NPFL: Boboye Promises Better Akwa United Despite Poor Run

Akwa United head coach Kennedy Boboye has tendered an unreserved apology to the club’s supporters following the team’s poor form.

The Promise Keepers have managed just one point from a possible six in two home games.

Boboye said he takes full responsibility of the team’s performance which he described as unfortunate, and added that the technical crew appreciates the genuine concerns of the fans and supporters of the team in these trying times and also assured that results will improve soonest.

“It’s unfortunate that we were unable to start the new year as planned, our expectation was to win the two home games and move out of the red zone but we only managed to pick just one point from a possible six and that is not good enough,” he told the club’s media.

Boboye while expressing disappointment over the team’s position on the log, appealed to the football loving people of the state especially the fans and supporters to keep faith with, and stand by the team as they continue their push away from the danger zone on the log.

” I have told my players to sit up and start getting results to justify the confidence and massive support they are getting.

The league is really developing and teams are picking vital points on the road. We believe, as a team, we will move this club to its pride of place before the end of the season but all we need is that total support and encouragement from our amazing fans and supporters in the remaining matches of the season.

“Our next match is against Abia Warriors away from home and we are going there to fight for all three points there is no doubt about that. The players that we have taken to Umuahia are those we believe are ready to give their all and ensure we get back to winning ways as quickly as possible”.
