Nigerians have expressed displeasure after Edo state governor, Monday Okpebholo, visited the popular Abuja-based pastor, Jerry Eze’s church to testify over the victory during the 2024 gubernatorial election.
Henzodaily reports that Okpbeholo visited the church on Sunday, January 5, 2025.
The Governor said that despite his fear regarding the election’s outcome, he was confident in the church’s slogan: ‘What God cannot do does not exist.’
However, some Nigerians took to X to express their thoughts, stating that Pastor Jerry should have stopped Okpebholo from climbing the pulpit to share his testimony, considering the alleged rigging, which flawed the election.

Today, pastors used their putrefying platforms to celebrate society’s perversions. A rigged election is what your god is using to prove his divinity? God will not be mocked, Pastor Jerry.”
@MarthaOnoriode wrote: “Giving him the mic was all shades of wrong. May these corrupt politicians not corrupt the altar. He never won the elections. God cannot be mocked. I hope this testimony is not reaired on NSPPD.”
@RealErimus wrote: “And you’re blaming pastor Jerry for this? I guess the church shouldn’t have given him space to share his testimony. His testimony doesn’t make God a liar!!!”
@messersEze wrote: “Imagine the congregation shouting at the top of their voices in celebration for this. For them, this God is so good. It is okay o. We deserve what has befallen us as a people.”
@FemiEMohammed wrote: “The church service is broadcasted live & we cant expect @RealJerryEze to standup & tell the ushers not to allow testimony givers to prevent him from coming to the front. Where I will fault Jerry Eze is if he adds this mans testimony to his daily morning sessions testimonies clips”
@nonsorous wrote: “He uses the foolish things like what exactly? Like illiterates rising to power where they can’t do anything positive with it? Or God uses the foolish things such result writing and vote buying to confound the wise? Which is it? We must do betta else the church would not be spared”
@Aikoges wrote: “As much as I worship with @RealJerryEze, I won’t be blinded by dogma to stay silent. The INEC-selected governor, installed by a corrupt system, has the audacity to stand at the altar and testify about his ‘victory.’ This is a mockery of faith. His day of reckoning will come.”
@FNwabuwe wrote: “Obviously, this has nothing to do with God. Isaiah 5:20 ” Woe to those who call evil good… “
Any evil or injustice has nothing to do with God. It looks good. It feels good but it is not right. It is not of God. REPENT!”
