The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has announced the schedule for the national draw for the 2025 editions of both the men’s and women’s President Federation Cup.
The 2025 President Federation Cup draw is set to take place on Friday, April 11, at the NFF secretariat, located in the capital city of Abuja.
In this upcoming tournament, a total of 72 clubs will be competing; specifically, two clubs from each of Nigeria’s 36 states, along with one club representing the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
The competition will kick off with the Round of 64 matches, which will determine which teams advance after several clubs have been eliminated from the men’s tournament. It is an exciting time as teams prepare to battle for a chance at glory in one of Nigeria’s most prestigious football competitions.
For the women’s competition, the journey will commence at the Round of 32 levels, which is designed to streamline the number of participating teams as the tournament progresses.
This will be followed by the Round of 16, then the quarterfinals, leading up to the semi-finals and ultimately culminating in the grand finale.
The knockout stages for the men’s competition, starting with the Round of 64, are scheduled to take place over the weekend of Saturday, May 3, and Sunday, May 4, 2025.
In a continuation of the tournament format, the Round of 16 matches will occur on Wednesday, May 14, 2025.
Looking further ahead, the quarterfinals are planned for Thursday, June 5, followed by the semi-finals, which will be held on Wednesday, June 18. The much-anticipated final match will take place on Saturday, June 28, 2025, when the champion will be crowned.
The winner of the men’s competition will earn the esteemed opportunity to represent Nigeria in the 2025-2026 CAF Confederation Cup, showcasing their talent on an international stage.
Last year, the El-Kanemi Warriors claimed victory in the men’s division, while the Rivers Angels took home the title in the women’s competition, setting the bar high for the forthcoming tournaments.
