Nasarawa State House of Assembly yesterday passed the 2025 appropriation bill with an increase of N20 billion.
This raised the total sum from the N382. 57 billion earlier budgeted by Governor Abdullahi Sule to N402.57 billion.
The speaker, Mr. Danladi Jatau, who announced the passage of the bill into law during proceedings, attributed the increase to the importance attached to some items in the budget and the current inflation.
According to him, the 2025 appropriation bill, if finally assented to by the governor, would enable the state government execute people-oriented projects for the overall development of the state.
The speaker directed the Clerk of the House to provide him the clean copy for his vetting and onward transmission to Gov. Sule for necessary action.
In a related development, the House has passed into law a bill for a law to establish the Nasarawa State Fire and Rescue Service Agency.
The speaker while announcing the passage of the bill in Lafia yesterday said it was to provide firefighting equipment among others. He directed the clerk to communicate the resolution to Gov. Sule for necessary action.
