Matawalle Donates ₦10 Million To Victims

The Minister of State for Defence, Bello Matawalle, has assured victims of Army bombing in Sokoto State that a thorough investigation would be carried out to ensure justice is done.

Bello Matawalle, who said the loss caused by the airstrike in Gidan Bisa and Runtuwa villages saddened President Bola Tinubu, donated ₦10 million to the victims.

He stated this on Friday while visiting the two villages with the Governor of Sokoto State, Ahmad Aliyu Sokoto.

On his part, Governor Aliyu commended the military for their efforts in combating terrorism and banditry in the region.

He called for improved intelligence and surveillance mechanisms while they fight terrorism to avoid a repeat of the tragedy.

The Sokoto State Governor lauded the President for the gains made in addressing insecurity in the country.

“While I commend the tireless efforts of the military and security agencies in combating banditry, I have urged for improved intelligence and surveillance mechanisms to avoid such tragic errors. Sokoto State remains steadfast in its commitment to ensuring the safety of all citizens.

“We deeply appreciate the President’s ongoing support in strengthening security measures across the state. Let us continue to work together to create a safer environment. May Allah grant peace to the departed and their families and protect us from future tragedies,” Governor Aliyu stated.
