Pep Guardiola has said Manchester City are at risk of not qualifying for next season’s UEFA Champions League due to their current poor form.
City are in seventh place on 27 points, 12 points behind leaders Liverpool in the league table.
The league champions have managed just one win in their last 12 games, losing nine and drawing two games.
Also the Cityzens have lost their last three games and face a tricky tie on Boxing Day when they will host Everton.
“Right now, we are at the risk of not qualifying for the Champions League… of course we are! Definitely we are,” Guardiola said ahead of their home game with the Toffees.
“We have to get points and win games otherwise we will not qualify for the Champions League!”
Sean Dyche’s men will go into Wednesday’s game full of confidence thanks to their impressive displays against Arsenal and Chelsea.
The Merseyside club held Arsenal to a 0-0 draw at the Emirates before recording the same result against Chelsea at Goodison Park.
But City would be banking on their good form against Everton having beaten them in their last three encounters.
