La Liga Rejects Barcelona Attempt To Register Olmo

La Liga has issued an official statement rejecting Barcelona’s appeal to register Dani Olmo and Pau Victor for the second half of the season.

“La Liga informs that, as of today, December 31, FC Barcelona has not presented any alternative that, in compliance with La Ligas economic control regulations, would allow it to register any player from next January 2,” the statement reads (via Barcelona Universal.

While the statement does not outright specify the names of the two players, it clearly references Barcelona’s efforts to register Olmo and Victor.

Barça had registered Olmo and Victor in the summer by utilising the salary space created by the long-term injury to Andreas Christensen, but it was only valid until midnight today.

The Catalans have been trying hard to secure the registrations of the duo but have faced setbacks in their attempts, with two courts denying precautionary measures, forcing them to proceed with the sale of the future Spotify Camp Nou VIP seat packages.
