‘I’m Happy To Be Out There’ – Dessers Rules Out Rangers Exit

Cyriel Dessers has expressed his desire to stay at Rangers beyond the winter transfer window.

Dessers started the season as Rangers’ first choice striker, but has now lost his place to Hamza Igamane.

The Nigeria international has been linked with a return to Italy where Cagliari and Empoli are reportedly interested in his services.

Spanish club Leganes are also said to have keen interest in the former Feyenoord player.

Dessers stated in a recent interview that he was seeking talks with club chiefs to determine his status in the team.

The 30-year-old has however revealed he is yet to sought out senior Rangers figures for discussions over a potential exit this month.

“No talks at all. I don’t mind that. I try to focus on the football and the things that are happening on the pitch,” he was quoted by Daily Record.

“Those are the things that I can control. And like Sunday at Tannadice, I’m just happy to be out there with the guys and fight for the points and be important.

“That’s what I want. There’s a lot of unfinished business at Rangers for me. That’s also why I kept pushing in the last weeks, in the gym, in training, in the minutes that you get, that’s because of that.”

He has scored 18 goals across all competitions for Philippe Clement’s side this season.
