‘I Wrote 11th National Assembly, Which Means You’re All Re-elected’

President Bola Tinubu has said lawmakers in the 10th National Assembly are all re-electable.

Henzodaily reports Tinubu made this known on Wednesday during his presentation of the 2025 budget at the National Assembly after mistakenly referring to the 10th Senate as the 11th.

He said, “In fulfilment of one of my constitutional duties and with an unyielding commitment to rebuilding Nigeria towards ensuring that we remain steadfast on a journey to a prosperous future, I hereby present the 2025 budget to the joint session of the National Assembly.”

After being reminded by lawmakers that they were the 10th National Assembly, Tinubu responded, “10th? I wrote 11th, which means you’re all re-elected.”

After the lawmakers corrected him, Tinubu’s remark drew laughter and applause from the lawmakers, easing the formal tone of the event.

Meanwhile, Tinubu has assured Nigerians of brighter economic prospects, stating that ongoing reforms are beginning to produce tangible results.

Henzodaily reports that the President made this assertion on Wednesday while presenting the 2025 Appropriation Bill to a joint session of the 11th National Assembly in Abuja.

Highlighting the progress made so far, Tinubu noted that the Nigerian economy is responding positively to a series of fiscal and monetary interventions.

According to him, the government aims to sustain this momentum by introducing targeted fiscal stimulus packages, strategic public expenditure, and non-inflationary spending measures.
