American actor and singer, Jamie Foxx has opened up on his health battle, one that landed him in a hospital last year.
Foxx, 56, in a new Netflix special, disclosed that he had a brain bleed that led to a stroke.
According to actor cum musician, he blacked out after requesting for an aspirin due to a throbbing headache.
Recall, the actor’s daughter Corinne at the time, said he had “experienced a medical complication”.
The Oscar-winning actor said he was later admitted to the Piedmont Hospital, where doctors revealed he suffered a brain bleed that had led to a stroke.
“It is a mystery. We still do not know exactly what happened to me,” he said.
“April 11, I was having a bad headache and I asked my boy for an aspirin. And I realised quickly that when you are in a medical emergency, your boys do not know what the f**k to do.
“Before I could get the aspirin I went out. I do not remember 20 days.”
Foxx added that when he eventually woke from the coma, he found himself in a wheelchair and unable to walk.
The singer said doctors, after the operation said he might make a full recovery “but it’s going to be the worst year of his life”.
Foxx said his family kept him out of the public eye because he was “so dizzy”. He said his daughter was concerned that people would turn him into an internet meme if they saw his condition.
