Governor’s sister dies days after being shot by armed robbery

The younger sister of Taraba State Governor Agbu Kefas, Atsi Kefas four days after being shot by armed robbers.

TheNewsGuru.com(TNG) reports that Atsi, died on  Monday night at a private hospital in Abuja, where she was receiving treatment following the attack.

It would be recalled that the suspected bandits had on December 5th, attacked a vehicle carrying the governor’s mother, Jummai Kefas, and Atsi along Kente Road in Wukari Local Government Area.

Atsi was shot during the  incident and was initially treated at the Federal University Teaching Hospital, Wukari, before being transferred to Abuja for specialized care.

Recall that, Dauda Samila Agbu, the chairman of the Wukari council, confirmed the attack, characterizing the situation as “deeply troubling.”

He further revealed that the governor’s sister had sustained a gunshot injury during the assault, necessitating her initial treatment at the Federal Teaching Hospital in Wukari before being transferred to Abuja for further medical care.

As at the filing of this report, the state government and the Kefas family have not officially confirmed her death, however, a reliable family source told Premium Times on Tuesday morning that Atsi passed away Monday night.

News of her passing has sparked an outpouring of grief on social media, with many well-wishers posting condolence messages.
