Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State has appointed Abubakar Bununu, Prof Simon Yalams, and Usman Danturaki as special advisers barely 24 hours after they were sacked as commissioners.
Bununu, Yalams, and Danturaki were among the five commissioners the governor sacked yesterday. They were former commissioners of security and internal affairs, agriculture, and information and communication, respectively.
However, while still in the shock of being relieved of their roles, Governor Mohammed approved the appointment of Abubakar Bununu as special adviser on Multi-Lateral Coordination and Integration, Prof Simon Yalams as special adviser on Technical and Vocational Education and Usman Danturaki as special adviser on Labour Matters and Contributory Pension Scheme.
The governor, in a statement signed by his spokesperson, Mukhtar Gidado and made available to reporters in Bauchi, said, “The appointments, which take immediate effect, are part of the governor’s commitment to ensuring effective leadership, inclusivity, and the attainment of his administration’s developmental goals.”
Governor Mohammed urged the appointees to bring their wealth of experience, dedication, and expertise in their respective fields to contribute significantly to the attainment of his administration’s vision.
He called on them to discharge their responsibilities with diligence, transparency, and a renewed focus on improving the lives of the people of Bauchi State.
Governor Mohammed also reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to good governance, accountability, and inclusive development for all citizens of Bauchi State.
