Gov Adeleke Sends Electricity Bill To House Of Assembly

The Governor of Osun State, Ademola Adeleke, on Monday, sent an electricity bill to the state’s House of Assembly for consideration and passing.

Senator Adeleke said electricity is a crucial component for driving development, stating that his administration was committed to harnessing multiple avenues to provide stable power in the state.

The Governor, in a statement, said the bill titled, ‘Osun State Electricity Market Regulatory Bill 2024’, reflects his government’s resolve to create a sustainable and efficient energy framework for the state.

“Electricity is a crucial component for driving development, and our administration is actively exploring multiple avenues to ensure adequate electricity generation and distribution in Osun State.

“That is why I forwarded a letter to the Osun State House of Assembly through the Rt. Honorable Speaker Adewale Egbedun, introducing the Osun State Electricity Market Regulatory Bill, 2024.

“This initiative reflects our commitment to creating a sustainable and efficient energy framework for the state,” Governor Adeleke disclosed on his X handle.

Meanwhile, Speaker Adewale Egbedun has assured that the House under his leadership was committed to ensuring that the State’s 2025 Appropriation Bill aligns with the needs of the people.

In a statement on Tuesday, Egbedun encouraged ministries, departments, and agencies to prepare for the budget defense to ensure timely passage of the bill.

“As we embark on detailed discussions and evaluations of the proposed budget, designed to reflect the government’s priorities for the upcoming fiscal year, I encourage all ministries, departments, and agencies to prepare to share insights into their strategic plans and expected expenditures.

“Under my leadership, the Osun State House of Assembly is committed to ensuring that the budget aligns with the needs and aspirations of our constituents,” it read partly.
