Mikel Arteta has described Gabriel Jesus as a big asset for his Arsenal side.
Jesus bagged an hat-trick in Arsenal’s 3-2 win against Crystal Palace in the Carabao Cup quarter-finals on Wednesday.
The Brazil forward has had to endure a long spell without scoring.
His struggles in front of goals led to reports of a possible move away from Arsenal in the January transfer window.
But, following his hat-trick feat in the Cup, Arteta stated that Jesus is a player that can be relied on by his teammates.
“Gabriel Jesus is a big asset for us,” Arteta was quoted on Fabrizio Romano’s X handle.
“I’m so pleased for him. It’s been a long period for him without goals, now he looked very sharp.
“I think it’s a great thing for him and the team that we can rely on a player of such quality.”
