John Gaadi, a former goalkeeper trainer of Sunshine Stars, has exclusively revealed to Completesports.com the reasons behind his decision to step down from his role at the Owena Waves.
Gaadi who previously served in similar capacities at Heartland FC, Owerri, and Lobi Stars of Makurdi, stated that his resignation was prompted by Kennedy Boboye’s recent departure as Technical Adviser of the club.

“I was persuaded by the club not to leave, but my mind was already made up,” began the Benue-born former shot-stopper.
“I have my principles and integrity to uphold. Don’t forget, Boboye invited me to work with him at Sunshine Stars. When he decided it was time to leave, I felt it was only proper for me to leave as well.
“Call it loyalty, and you wouldn’t be far from the truth. I don’t want to be seen as betraying him. He’s a nice man, and I have a lot of respect for him.”

Gaadi also dismissed the possibility of rejoining his home state club, Lobi Stars, despite reports that the struggling NPFL side’s management had approached him.
“The truth is, I don’t want to go back to Lobi Stars. Yes, I’m aware they want me back and have informed me, but I’m not interested,” he stated firmly.
