Sudanese heavyweight Al Merrikh have signed midfielder Babajide Fatokun from Remo Stars.
Al Merrikh, who announced the signing on their X handle on Tuesday, stated that
Fatokun joins after sealing a three-year deal.
The 26-year-old was part of the Super Eagles B team that qualified for this year’s Africa Nations Championship (CHAN).
He featured in both legs of the CHAN playoffs with Ghana’s Black Galaxies which the Super Eagles B won 3-1 on aggregate.
Al-Merrikh was founded under the name of Al-Masalma Sporting Club in 1908 by students from Al-Masalmah district that was headed by their chairman Jek Deng Aban Gorang in Omdurman of Gordon Memorial College.
The club renamed as Al-Merrikh Sporting Club on 14 November 1927.
The club which has a fierce rivalry with Al-Hilal, have won the Sudanese league title 23 times.
