Senator representing Kaduna South senatorial district Senator Sunday Marshall Katung has described as a new era and a dream come through the establishment of the Federal University of Applied Sciences Kachia.
The senator took to his verified Facebook account to appreciate all those who contributed in one way or another to the establishment of the university, particularly President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Senate President Godswill Akpabio, and his colleagues in the National Assembly.
“It is with immense gratitude and humility that we celebrate a significant milestone in Southern Kaduna: the establishment of the Federal University of Applied Sciences, Kachia, Kaduna State, concurrently approved by the Federal Executive Council and signed into existence by the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, His Excellency, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu”.
He said, the coming to reality of the university marks a historic moment for the good people of the region, stressing that the positive impact of the decision will benefit millions in the region, the country, and the world for generations to come.
“We are excited that our vision for a world-class institution of higher learning in Southern Kaduna has been recognized and endorsed. We are eager to embark on this journey that has eluded us for decades.
“I want to express my deepest gratitude to Mr. President for making our dreams a reality. I also extend my thanks to His Excellency, the Vice President of Nigeria, Alhaji Kashim Shettima; the Senate President, Godswill Obot Akpabio; our dear Governor of Kaduna State, H.E. Uba Sani; my colleagues in the Senate and House of Representatives; as well as the body of Southern Kaduna professors, traditional, community, and religious leaders who played a pivotal role in bringing this dream to fruition”.
He also appreciated the cooperation received from the Federal Ministry of Education, with particular reference to the Minister, Marufu Alausa, and the permanent secretary, among others. “Your trust, encouragement, and feedback have been invaluable throughout the process. Your unwavering support, guidance, leadership, and vision have been essential in shaping our proposal, and we are grateful for your partnership,” he stated.
“This university will not only provide access to quality education but will also create jobs, stimulate local economic growth, and contribute to the social and cultural fabric of our community. This is the vision that Mr. President has set in motion today, and we look forward to working collaboratively with all stakeholders to bring it to life, Once again, thank you, Mr. President,” he said.
