Popular Nigerian singer, Ahmed Ololade better known as Asake has sparked speculations after yanking off his record label, YBNL from his bio Instagram profile.
Trouble started after Grammy-nominated musician unfollowed everyone from Instagram, this includes, his boss, Olamide, his record label and added “creative director”.
Although the singer’s record label still follows him, it was speculated that Asake’s relationship with YBNL, which started since 2022 has gone sour, especially with the singer’s noticeable absence from the Flytime Festival 2024, where Olamide headlined the event.
Following this development, fans of Asake have taken to social media to express concern, about his mysterious move and asking if there was trouble between him and his label boss Olamide.
While some argue his contract with YBNL might have expired, others imply he might be going through a personal crisis.
One user, 𝔸b𝕒𝕫𝕫 wrote: “Asake unfollows everyone on instagram and deletes his BIO. What is going on!!!!!”
Another concerned fan, Naijashimadun said, “Olamide did a show and you Asake was not present or even show up anywhere in Nigeria. Even if you guys have issues, you should find a way to settle with your senior brother”
BIG IMO wrote: “Asake & Olamide formation has been tight I hope we are not gonna see another dye down like lil Kesh back then! Asake Needs Olamide imo.”
A user suggested that both Asake and Olamide left the record label, “Olamide & Asake terminate their contract with YBNL record label, may God be with Fireboy Dml because he’s the only and remaining artist in the label.”
TheNewsGuru.com(TNG) understands that this is not the first time, Asake will make such moves with his Instagram profile.
In March of 2024, he unfollowed everyone on Instagram, including Olamide and wiped his page clean of photos and videos.
Fans are now wondering if these actions signal a shift in Asake’s career or a deeper issue with YBNL.
