Super Eagles interim head coach, Augustine ‘Cerezo’ Eguavoen, is expected to arrive in Uyo ahead of the Super Eagles B team’s decisive 2024 CHAN qualifier against the Black Galaxies of Ghana on Saturday at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium, Completesports.com reports.
The 59-year-old Eguavoen missed the first leg of the final qualification series, in which Nigeria’s home-based Eagles, comprised of players from the domestic league, held their Ghanaian counterparts to a goalless draw.
Eguavoen had travelled abroad for treatment for an undisclosed health condition but has now recovered and returned to Nigeria.

“Eguavoen is back in the country. In fact, he’s coming to Uyo today for the Super Eagles B match against Ghana on Saturday at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium,” a close confidant of Eguavoen informed Completesports.com.
During his absence, Daniel Ogunmodede and Fidelis ‘The Working One’ Ilechukwu have temporarily overseen the team.
The Super Eagles players and officials are camped at Luna Park Hotel, marking a shift from their previous base at Four Points by Sheraton, Ikot Ekpene.
Meanwhile, the Black Galaxies of Ghana are expected to arrive in Uyo today, Friday, 27 December, via Port Harcourt Airport.
