Chinedu Stanley Asuzu, a Nigerian national and the brother of late Nollywood actor, Enerst Asuzu based in South Africa, has been brutally murdered by armed men at his residence at Johannesburg South on December 16, 2024.
TheNewsGuru.com(TNG) reports that the Nigerian Union South Africa (NUSA), in a statement signed by its National Publicity Secretary, Akindele Olunloyo, confirmed the incident in a statement on Monday, December 22 disclosing that they discovered that divorce proceedings and asset division were underway between the deceased and his estranged South African wife.
Condemning the brutal murder, the NUSA President-General, Hon. Smart Nwobi noted that it is actively supporting the family and working with authorities to ensure that the prepetrators of the dastaded act are brought to book.
The Statement partly read: “The NUSA President-General attempted to reach Mrs Busisiwe Sibanyoni, via telephone but was unsuccessful. A WhatsApp message was sent; however, she had not responded at the time of this report’s compilation.
“A witness who was at the scene of the shooting incident was contacted and provided the investigating officer’s details. NUSA’s legal team followed up with the officer confirming that a murder investigation has been launched and remains active.
“NUSA’s legal team is gathering information and liaising with the family,”
“NUSA is providing comprehensive support to the bereaved family. We strongly condemn this act of violence and urge South African law enforcement to bring the perpetrators to justice. To our Nigerian community in South Africa: Stay safe, stay connected.”
