Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed has approved the appointment of Aminu Hammayo as the new Secretary to the State Government (SSG).
Hammayo’s appointment followed the sudden resignation of the former SSG, Ibrahim Kashim, who is a close political associate of Governor Mohammed.
The new SSG served at different positions under previous Bauchi governors and contested for the office of the governor in 2011.
He once served as Commissioner for Budget, Economic Planning and Multilateral Coordination for the past four years under Governor Mohammed.
Special Adviser to the Governor on Media and Publicity, Mukhtar Gidado disclosed this in a statement made available to Journalists on Friday in Bauchi.
According to his spokesman, these appointments reflect Governor Mohammed’s commitment to effective governance and his vision for a more inclusive and progressive administration.
“Aminu Hammayo, a seasoned administrator and public servant, has served Bauchi State with distinction in various capacities, earning a reputation for excellence, diligence, and unwavering dedication to public service.
“He was a one-time Secretary to the State Government,” the statement read in part.
The statement also disclosed that Governor Bala approved the appointment of Hashimu Kumbala as his new Principal Private Secretary.
“In this capacity, he will provide critical administrative and advisory support to the Governor, ensuring effective communication and coordination within the government,” Gidaɗo said.
Until his new appointment, Kumbala was the Special Adviser to the Governor on General Services.
