Arsenal Move Up To Second After 1-0 Win Vs Ipswich

A Kai Havertz first half strike earned Arsenal a hard-fought 1-0 win against struggling Ipswich in Friday’s Premier League game.

The Gunners took advantage of Chelsea’s home defeat to Fulham at Stamford Bridge by leapfroging them to move up to second on the log courtesy the win against Ipswich.

Enzo Maresca’s men fell 2-1 to Fulham despite taking the lead through star forward Cole Palmer.

The Gunners are now on 36 points, six points behind leaders Liverpool who have a game in hand which is against Everton.

After continuous probing, Arsenal were eventually rewarded in the 23rd minute after Havertz tapped home Leandro Trossard cross.

Some minutes later Gabriel Jesus thought he had doubled Arsenal’s lead but his effort was ruled out for offside.

Up next for Arsenal is a New Year’s day clash away to Brentford.
