Arsenal missed the chance to close the gap on leaders Liverpool following a frustrating 0-0 draw against Everton at in Saturday’s Premier League clash at the Emirates.
It was a game the Gunners failed to create much meaningful scoring chances thanks to a disciplined Everton backline.
Arsenal’s best chance of the game fell to Martin Odegaard in the first half but the Norwegian could not beat Jordan Pickford from close range.
Efforts to try and conjure something from corners was also snuffed out by the Everton defence.
The draw means Arsenal are in third place on 30 points, six points from Liverpool on the log.
At St. James’Park Newcastle handed Rudd van Nistelrooy his first defeat following a 4-0 win against Leicester City.
Super Eagles midfielder Wilfred Ndidi was not in action due to hamstring injury.
A brace from Jacob Murphy and strikes from Alexander Isak and Bruno Guimaraes secured the three points for the Magpies.
Other result saw Ipswich Town defeat Wolverhampton Wanderers 2-1 away.
