APC Fixes April 5 For Primaries

Ahead of the November 8, Anambra governorship election, the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has released the schedule of activities and timetable for the exercise.

Consequently, the party will begin selling expressions of interest, nomination, and delegate forms next Monday, February 10, until the 25th day of the month.

The schedule of activities and timetable posted on the party’s X(Twitter) handle showed that aspirants who have obtained the forms will be screened on March 7, the screening results will be published on March 10, and the screening appeal is slated between March 11 and 12.

According to the schedule, the primary election comes up on April 5; the election appeal will be between April 6 and 7, while Congress to ratify the result of the gubernatorial election takes place on April 6.

The party pegged the expression of interest form at N10 million and the nomination form at N40 million, totalling N50 million, while the delegate form stood at N5,000.

However, female and persons with disabilities aspirants must purchase only the expression of interest form as the nomination form is free. At the same time, youths between 25 and 40 years have a 50 per cent discount on the nomination form after purchasing the expression of interest.
