Aina Shines, Awoniyi In Action As Nottingham Forest Stun

Super Eagles duo of Ola Aina and Taiwo Awoniyi were at their best mettle as Nottingham Forest stunned Manchester United 3-2 at Old Trafford on Saturday.

Aina, who was making his 15th appearance this ongoing season, has bagged one goal for Nottingham Forest.

On the other hand, Awoniyi came on as a substitute for Callum Hudson-Odoi in the 80th minute and made a positive impact.

The hosts were behind with just 91 seconds played as Nikola Milenkovic headed in from a corner.

Rasmus Højlund equalised when Matz Sels could only parry Alejandro Garnacho’s effort, but Forest were back in front early in the second half.

Rasmus Højlund equalised when Matz Sels could only parry Alejandro Garnacho’s effort, but Forest were back in front early in the second half.

Morgan Gibbs-White was afforded space 25 yards from goal and his low drive down the middle of the goal seemed to deceive André Onana, who watched the ball fizz by him.

A looping Chris Wood header – making him Forest’s all-time leading Premier League goalscorer with 25 – was then bizarrely allowed to go in by Lisandro Martínez, who presumably thought the ball was going wide.

Bruno Fernandes did pull one back with a fine finish from just outside the area after Amad Diallo’s cut-back, but there was to be no dramatic late turnaround from United.
