Adeleke Engages 10,000 Youths For Imole Youth Corps

Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State has inaugurated and inducted 10,000 youth into the Imole Youth Corps to tackle unemployment and provide manpower support services across sectors.

Speaking at the inauguration venue, Nelson Mandela Freedom Park, Osogbo, on Thursday, the Governor described the programme as a transitional arrangement designed to provide opportunities for youth from all walks of life.

He disclosed that the youths drawn from the 332 political wards across the state provide health, security, environment and education services.

Adeleke charged the corps members with demonstrating strong commitment in whatever sector they were assigned, with a mandate to justify the confidence reposed in them by working diligently in their posted areas.

He directed the Commissioner for Youth Development, Moshood Olagunju, to enforce the performance evaluation system to ensure the programme’s goals are realised.

In his address to the Corps members, the Commissioner congratulated them and tasked them to be good ambassadors of the newly created youth engagement platform.

In his goodwill message, the chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, the ruling party in the state, Hon Sunday Bisi, charged the corps members to be diligent in service.
