Real Madrid French star Kylian Mbappé has been exonerated of all allegations of rape.
According to the Street Journal, this was revealed through a statement by the lead investigator of the Swedish Prosecution Authority Marina Chirakova in the early hours of Thursday, December 12.
Chirakova stated that the investigation into rape accusations against Mbappé has been closed due to insufficient evidence to move forward.
“My assessment is that the evidence is not sufficient to proceed and the investigation is therefore closed.”
The Swedish Prosecution Authority had began an allegation of rape against the former PSG star on Tuesday, October 15.
The incident took place at a luxury hotel in Stockholm, Sweden, on Thursday, October 10.
Mbappe and his group had dinner at a restaurant one evening before heading to a nightclub.
The victim whose name was not given, lodged a complaint to the police on Saturday, October 12 stating that she was raped by the footballer.
She also presented clothing items such as a woman’s underwear, black trousers and a black top as evidence.
Mbappé, consistently denied the claims.
