The National Vice Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), South-South, Chief Dan Orbih, has backed Governor Monday Okpebholo’s developmental strides within just one month in office.
Chief Orbih, who was the father of the day at the first anniversary of an online TV, said the Governor has only been in office for about one month now and is delivering the dividends of democracy to the people of Edo State through practical governance.
His declaration came on a day the Edo State Governorship Election Tribunal began its sitting in Benin City, to hear the petition brought by the PDP against the election of Governor Monday Okpebholo at the September 21 governorship election.
Orbih said: “You have started well. Our prayer for you is to finish well. For over three weeks you have been the Governor of the State. You started well and are doing well for Edo people.
“For over four years, I refused to attend any function of this status, but with you as the Governor of Edo State, I have seen something new and will identify with you because you mean well for Edo people.”
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has congratulated the people of Ghana for their resilience in defending democracy and ensuring that their will prevailed in the Saturday, December 7, 2024 Presidential election.
Henzodaily reports that Ghanaians on Saturday voted in its presidential election which returned the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and President John Mahama to power.
Reacting in a statement on Monday, the PDP National Publicity Secretary, Debo Ologunagba, said the victory of the opposition NDC is a clear demonstration of the triumph of the power of the people over misrule and oppressive policies of government as now being witnessed in Nigeria under the corrupt, rudderless and insensitive All Progressives Congress (APC).
According to the PDP spokesperson, the verdict of the people of Ghana in this Presidential election is a signal to the APC that its days in office are numbered as the power of the people in Nigeria, just like in Ghana, will surely prevail.
He said Nigerians will end APC’s oppressive rule and return Nigeria to the path of good governance, security, political stability and economic prosperity on the platform of the PDP in 2027.
