The Electoral Commission of Ghana (ECG) has officially declared John Dramani Mahama of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) as the winner of the country’s 2024 presidential election.
The declaration was made on Monday in Accra by the chairman of the commission, Jane Mensa.
According to the declared results, Mahama polled 6,328,397 votes, representing 56.55% of the total votes to defeat his closest rival, and incumbent vice president, Mahamudu Bawumia of the ruling National Patriotic Party (NPP), who scored 4,657,304 votes representing 41.6%.
