NWFL: Rivers Angels Fume Over Adamama Queens Referee’s Allegation

Rivers Angels have demanded an apology following a spurious allegation made against the club by Adamama Queens technical adviser, Dadeino Herman.

The Jewel of Rivers trounced Adamawa Queens 6-0 in a Nigeria Women Football League, NWFL, matchday seven encounter on Wednesday.

“Coach Herman’s claims that Rivers Angels “used the referees” to gain an advantage in the match are baseless and unacceptable. We find it ironic that she acknowledged our team’s quality players, yet chose to shift the focus to unfounded allegations,” the Port Harcourt said in a statement.

“Furthermore, her accusations against the match commissioner and the centre referee are serious and deserve attention from the league body. However, we insist that such allegations should not be used as a smokescreen to deflect attention from the actual outcome of the match.

“As a reputable club, Rivers Angels will not stand and watch while our image is tarnished by unfounded claims.”

Rivers Angels implore the NWFL to investigate the matter and take appropriate action.

The former champions currently occupy first position in Group B with 17 points.
