NWFL: Teams Seek Positive End To First Stanza

The first stanza of the 2024/25 Nigeria Women Football League , NWFL, will come to an end on Wednesday (today), reports Completesports.com.

All the participating clubs will look to secure positive results going into the break.

Holders Edo Queens, Remo Stars Ladies, Bayelsa Queens and Rivers Angels are still unbeaten after six matches.

Group A leaders Remo Stars Ladies will welcome Nasarawa Amazons to Ikenne.

The Sky Blue Stars, who are making their maiden appearance in the NWFL are the most in-form team across both groups with five wins and one draw.

Wemimo Matthew’s side have won all three home games this season, while Chris Danjuma’s Nasarawa Amazons have won once on the road.

Edo Queens will confront Ekiti Queens at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, Benin City hoping to make it two wins in a row.

Moses Aduku’s side have won twice and drawn once at home this season, while Ekiti have lost all three away fixtures.

Group B leaders Bayelsa Queens face a tricky test against FC Robo Queens at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Onikan Lagos.

FC Robo lost 4-1 to Delta Queens last week and will be desperate to return to winning ways.

The Lagos Landladies have won four of their last seven league meetings with Bayelsa Queens.

Former champions Rivers Angels, who currently occupy second position in Group B will hope to maintain their impressive home form when they entertain Adamawa Queens at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium, Port Harcourt.

Adamawa Queens have struggled away from home, losing all three away games this season.
