Human rights lawyer, Deji Adeyanju has disclosed why the Nigerian police have refused to release controversial Speed Darlington, following his arrest in November.
TheNewsGuru.com (TNG) reports Speed Darlington was, after he was arrested, re-arrested in Owerri, Imo State for jumping bail.
He was first arrested in October after his colleague, Burna Boy filed a petition against him, for questioning the authenticity of his Grammy award, linking Burna Boy to embattled music mogul Sean Combs, known as P Diddy or Puff Daddy.
Deji Adeyanju disclosed on Monday that the police have refused to release Speed Darlington “on the excuse” that the last time they released him, he travelled to the US.
“The @PoliceNG @PoliceNG_CRU have refused to release Speed Darlington or take him before a judge to face trial on the childish excuse that the last time they released him to me, he travelled to the US.
“This narrative is false because we told them he was going to US to return,” the human rights lawyer disclosed.
